The main reason i decided to buy this book relates to a comment that you can read on the cover of the portuguese edition It says If you liked Pride e Prejudice you re going to love this book Woman s WayNo NOIf you loved Pride e Prejudice one of the greatest romances ever written you re going to hate this book and you re going to hate it even because of the comparisonThis comparison is absurdThis book was unbelievable incohrent The characters the plot And to put this story on the level of Jane Austen s writing is a profanity

Rating 15 starsFor someone who reads as many historical romance novels as I do this one was very disapointing I couldn t connect with the characters especially Julius who I thought acted like an alien would most of the time Emmaline s family was so childishly mean that it seemed like I was watching Disney s Cinderella meaning they were all pretty one dimensional Actually the characters I liked the most were the servants that s why this book gets the extra half starThe story was pretty simplistic and horribly developed not to mention predictable Still I had a hard time connecting all the events because they seemed unconnected It actually seemed like the book was a collection of happenings that had little link with each other In one scene Emmaline is writing then she is having a fit in another scene because of an unrelated matter uite confusing Julius came and went without us really realising he had been in the house or the country at all He just popped in at random times to have dinner and try to be misterious and sounding like the most boring man alive This is why the love story felt fake Julius had no personality to speak of plus you don t ever read anything from his point of view big mistake since in a romance story you actually want to know how the feelings of both parties develop and wasn t even home most of the time and Emmaline was a weak character The writing was sloppy or at least it seemed maybe the traslation to portuguese helped a bit The repetition at the end of sentences was pretty annoying An example Emma you are very pretty tonight very pretty I m not sure if that was how it was originally phrased in English but that s how that they translated it into Portuguese so it got on my nerves Really

Free read The Land of Summer The Land of Summer (E–book) A prime example of why I should literally not judge a book by its cover and title I loved both so I thought this would be a pleasant read at the least I was wrong Stopped reading at 36% on my Kindle I just read the spoilers and other reviews to finally make up my mind to stop reading This book just isn't worth it
